Animation Sequence Project
in60secondsThe Animation Sequence Project is a unique animation project in co-creation with more than 300 animators from all around the world. The assignment for participants was simple; create an animation of up to 10 seconds that begins and ends with a square. In between these squares, anything can happen.
CLIENT REQUEST
in60seconds asked creatives from around the world to create a short animation in their own style. The only condition for the content of this animation was that it should start and end with a square of 250 pixels.
In the animation, the sqaure can then tell his own story, and be anything; a box, a character, a building, an animal or something totally abstract. Anything, as long as it regaints its original form within 10 seconds.
RESULTS ACHIEVED
The project resulted in more than 350 entries, from Japan to South America, from Europe to the US. We have joined together the 25 best and most original submissions, in a sequence of about 4 minutes, see above. This sequence shows the state-of-the-art of animation.
On the 7th of November 2013, the sequence was presented on full screen, during the opening ceremony of the KLIK Animation Festival in the spectacular EYE Film Institute in Amsterdam. In the same year, the project also won a European Design Award.
